MA, Licensed Professional Counseling Associate
We all face challenges in our lives that can be overwhelming and cause us to use unhelpful and unhealthy coping strategies to manage our emotions. Through the help of a caring professional we can find new ways of thinking and healthier ways to cope. Through this process we can grow and overcome these obstacles to become more whole and healthy human beings, better friends and family members, and live healthier and happier lives.
Tasha Mortimer is a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate with her M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary. She is passionate about seeing individuals be the healthiest and happiest version of themselves, and works to help them overcome life’s challenges so they can live their lives to the fullest. In the first year and half of her counseling career, she worked with individuals dealing with addiction and mental health issues and has helped them begin to overcome the challenging obstacles that face those struggling with addiction. She continues to put these skills to work to help individuals facing a variety of challenges including but not limited to anxiety, depression, codependency, boundary issues, relationship and communication problems, trauma, PTSD, and addiction.
Before pursuing her masters, Tasha spent time working in missions and alongside ministries doing Pastoral Counseling. She spent a year working with an organization helping women survivors of sex trafficking and helped develop and operate a safe house for those survivors. Through these real life experiences, she gained a heart for individuals who have experienced trauma and understands the challenges that those survivors can face. Through individual counseling and advocacy her hope is to help individuals experience restoration and have hope for their future.
As humans we are incredibly resilient, and with some practical tools and knowledge to apply them, you can overcome your personal challenges and move forward on your journey of being the healthiest version of you!
